The database can be accessed free-of-charge for non-commercial use. If you agree to the conditions, you can obtain limited query results in JSON format.
It is only intended for solutions which are not covered by the browser based front-end which fmstream.org already provides.

Send me an e-mail and describe your project. I will ask you to sign the conditions and give your full name and address and monitor the number of queries. The key is dynamic.
The API uses the same GET parameters as the fmstream.org/index.php main site. The only difference is that the output will be in JSON format and contain a few limitations. All parameters are optional. Without parameters you get the featured stations list. Combinations that do not make sense are blocked.

Random stations
High audio quality with values 0 or 1 will order the streams of any station with low/high bitrates first.
Language in ISO-code (2 letters).

Is a mixture of offset and order and can be combined with n

order from big to small stations. The ranking depends on an internal score of the number and power of FM/AM transmitters. A few recommended stations have a special bonus.
big
filter for the big stations, ordered alphabetically. big/med/sma are used best in combination with a country or style.
med
only medium size stations, ordered alphabetically.
sma
only small stations, ordered alphabetically.
search looks for matches in an internal search string that contains program, style, branding, frequency, country (real name, not ITU). Not case sensitive. Spaces (multiple words) are interpreted as logical OR. Search for consecutive words without spaces ('radiolondon' for Radio London).
The station's format or genre. Any search input is valid. Matches with the first registered style of a station are preferred: A search for "rock" will first show stations that play "rock" only.
